The Village

    Our Story

The Village opened in 1996 to be a fun, exciting establishment with an international spin, offering great food, riveting entertainment, and dancing. It filled a niche that was missing at the time in Palm Springs for a place where one could eat, drink and dance. Today, the Village continues to be the leading edge, thanks to its progressive management and its ability to adapt and evolve.

Owners Tareef Talala and sister Roula were inspired to open a tavern-like many they’ve partied at while living in countless countries spanning several continents. Their choice could not have been better.

“We thrive on and embrace diversity, be it on an individual level or that of different cultures,” said Tareef, who resided in Canada about 20 years before moving to the U.S. “This is not just a business, rather it’s a family, united by the ethos that differences only make us richer.

Tareef has a Master’s degree from Queen’s University, Ontario; Roula has a Bachelors’s degree in Environmental Studies, from York University, Toronto, Canada. Together they bring a well-educated and world perspective to the Village.
